Duke of York Restaurant

This striking yet sympathetic design by Nex Architects has made the shortlist for the RIBA London Awards 2020, the Dezeen Awards 2020, and has also been awarded the New London Architecture Award in the Hotels & Hospitality category.
The architect’s vision for this Award winning design of a London café, was a spiral concrete shell where the massive retractable windows allow effortless transition from the internal to the external.
The exposed white concrete, aggregate arches contrast the sleek black terrazzo floor.
The use of cutting-edge formulations and mix designs produced a beautiful, highly polished black concrete floor with exposed black aggregates.
The final result is a perfect confluence of the sleek black terrazzo, the decorative trims, white concrete elements and the colossal glazing.
For such an esteemed location the highly polished, sophisticated finish utterly creates the ambience.
